Mark (Noah Wyle) and Phoebe are in the midst of a breakup. Miguel, a bullied teenager, gets an illegal gun and accidentally shoots Mark. In real time we now experience the consequences of getting shot. Using multiple screen techniques, we viscerally go through everything the couple goes through, and at the same time see how the boy tries to avoid getting caught. The story tracks the events of what the medical profession calls the "golden hour" with all efforts of EMTs and ER teams attempting to save Mark's life. We share Mark's shock, pain, anger, fear, humor, guilt, grief and desire for vengeance and potential redemption, and we watch how this all effects his troubled relationship with his wife. We also track the struggles Miguel has facing his responsibility for the shooting. Several women (and one girl) in L.A. are hiding something from someone else, or discovering something hidden from them. Maxine, a therapist, discovers her husband cheating on her with the mother of Charlotte, a 13-year old patient. Addy (the other woman) and her sister Doris have withheld from the girl the truth of her parentage. Holly, an adult film actor, isn't telling her friend Bambi how she feels about her, and another actor, Elektra, who discovers she's pregnant, hasn't told the baby's father that she loves him. A stuck elevator, a car crash, mid-air turbulence, a flight attendant, a shotgun-wielding bartender, and her roommate, who's a masseuse, help these women communicate.

Bedrooms tells a story about the walls that separate people, the heartbreak and infidelity that's often the result and the redemption that comes from tearing those walls down. The film is told in 4 stories by 3 filmmakers. Three of the stories deal with married couples of various ages confronting the turning points of their relationships. A fourth story is interwoven throughout, providing bookends and context in the form of a story about ten year old twins, who, tired of sharing their bedroom set out to build a wall between their beds to create their own spaces. In building the wall to separate, they come to fully appreciate all things that connect them. Bedrooms explores human relationships, their myriad complications and the daily choice we face to either make them work or to move on.

An ensemble cast telling 10 stories with intertwining characters. One story is about a father and son who are dating the same woman . Another features a woman who long ago gave her baby up for adoption but is now being blackmailed by a documentary filmmaker who claims to know the now-grown child's whereabouts.
